تضع جمعية القلب الأمريكية حدًا لمعدل السكر

 فلا تتعدى نسبة السكريات 100 سعر حراري على مدار اليوم بالنسبة لغالبية النساء، ولا تتعدى 150 سعرًا حراريًا على مدار اليوم بالنسبة لغالبية الرجال. تعادل هذه النسبة 6 ملاعق صغيرة أو 24 غرامًا من السكر بالنسبة للنساء، و9 ملاعق صغيرة أو 36 غرامًا
